+EV Poker and the Purpose of this Blog
So here I am, I've jumped on the Poker Blog Bandwagon.
So you ask, "What do you have to say that I should bother reading?"
Good question. First of all, I'm going to strive to be brutally honest in this blog about my play, my results, and all of my opinions. The primary goal of this blog is to benefit my own play. The secondary goal is to get the readers thinking and hopefully induce growth in their game. I hope to accomplish both goals, but at the least, I want to get myself thinking more critically about my game.
I'm a small/mid stakes NL Hold'em player on Party Poker where I typically play NL $400 - NL $600 6max. I'm trying to improve my game by organizing my thoughts and posting them here. My hope is that this blog will help me refocus on poker by writing about interesting hands and telling you about the donk plays I make. I do not consider myself an expert player, or even a good player. I am capable though, and I've got a respectable winrate in these games. That said, I feel like the bulk of my money is earned through the un-forced errors of Party Poker donators. In order to move up and play at higher levels, I know I need to improve.
I'm striving to play the most +EV game that I can. That's why I named my site +EV Poker.com and that's why I'm going to attempt to analyze many hands on this site as well as Two Plus Two to learn, progress, and make sure I'm exploiting all the positive expected value situations I can.
Hopefully someone will find something I say interesting and would want to respond. If the mood strikes, I'd encourage you to leave a comment under one of my entries and/or send me an email. I'd be happy to hear any thoughts you might have on my site, my play, or just the world of poker in general.
Thanks for reading.
